Letters of credit advising

The Royal Bank of Scotland Berhad will verify authenticity of the L/C before we advise you on it. Electronic notification with full text of the L/C can also be sent through our Trade Services Platform, an electronic delivery system.

Letters of credit confirmation

For clients less comfortable with the risk of the L/C’s issuing bank or the country, we can add our confirmation on the L/C, hence transferring the risk to us.

Export bills for collection

The Royal Bank of Scotland Berhad is able to handle your export documents (Documents against acceptance or Documents against payments) sent for importers’ acceptance. We will then route payments to you upon receipt of funds from the presenting bank.

Export bills under L/Cs

As a bank which provides trade services we have experienced checkers who will check relevant documents to ensure compliance to the terms and conditions of the L/C. This aids in protecting your interests as an exporter, and also helps in presenting clean bills to secure fast payment from the issuing bank.

Pre-shipment import financing

Short-term, pre-shipment financing can be extended to enable exporters to procure raw materials for the manufacture of finished goods for export.

Export bills negotiation/discounting

Short-term, post-export financing can be arranged to improve your cash flow pending payment from the L/C issuing bank. For non L/C bill the bank may also extend bill purchase facility to bridge the cash flow requirement of the seller.

Post shipment open account financing

We can provide financing against submission of invoices and transport documents to tide over any cash flow issues arising from sales on open account trade which allows the exporter to extend credit terms to buyers.
